Welcome to Blue Toby! Let me introduce you to our crew: 

I’m Linda (Founder and Pack Leader) and this is Toby (Product Testing Lead) and Blue (Quality Control). 

I am an animal lover and animal behavior scientist – and have spent my life working to improve the welfare of animals. I even started the world’s largest sanctuary for retired research chimpanzees, called Chimp Haven! Then my focus shifted to dogs, cats and other pets. 

Tired of the ugly, stinky dog beds around our house, I started thinking of ideas for a better pet bed years ago. I researched how dogs like to sleep, bought a sewing machine, made all sorts of beds, and watched the effects on Blue and Toby’s behavior and welfare. The solution we came up with is simple but revolutionary: the Blue Toby Pet Mattress System! 

I found that most other dog and cat owners had the same problem with their pet beds, and so decided to make the Blue Toby product available to the public. With Blue Toby, I wanted to find a way to make it easier for people to take care of their pets while making pets more comfortable. A win-win for everyone!

Our mission is making pets and their people happier together. 

As I write this, Blue and Toby came over to remind me that we have an even larger goal! We picked Toby from among hundreds of hopeful dogs at the local county shelter, all on concrete without even a blanket. It was heartbreaking to see the dogs sitting in their own waste, and I vowed to try to help them. 

When you make a purchase from Blue Toby, you are also giving pet beds and other products to animals in need.

I created Blue Toby as a public benefit business – giving back to animals in need is not only our main goal but part of our business plan.
