Every step forward is progress for Blue Toby
The last few months have been incredibly busy at Blue Toby. We worked hard over the holidays to prepare for our Kickstarter campaign. We launched earlier this year – preparing images and infographics, coordinating text and product offerings. But unfortunately, despite our great efforts, we did not meet our funding goal. I want to thank everyone who participated in the Kickstarter program, and for passing along the information to your friends and family.
The preparations for this funding effort were not wasted. We are using the material to finalize our website and create collateral materials for advertising. Product development has also gone well!! We are working with a sewing manufacturer called Mollie’s Originals in Ridgeway, Virginia - within easy driving distance so that I can meet in person as we fine tune the details of construction of our Blue Toby Pet Beds.
The journey for Blue Toby has been a long one, with so much learning along the way. Sometimes it has felt like I would never be able to bring this product to market. But step by step we are reaching our goals.
Some people have asked why I did not take the easy route – just buying a ready-made dog bed from China and re-selling on Amazon. Yes, that would certainly have been easier, but that is not what Blue Toby is all about. Our goal is to make something better than what is on the market now. The Blue Toby Sustainable Pet Bed System is ultra-comfortable, high quality, easy-care, and manufactured locally from recycled fabrics and using foam alternatives. It will last for years to come. It reflects our focus on people, pets, and the planet.
